CryptoSeedPrivacy Policy
In short: CryptoSeed does not collect, sell or share your data. There are no accounts, servers, analytics, advertising or tracking. Keys, contacts, codes and files stay on your device.
Data the app handles
- Keys and identities (symmetric keys, X25519, Ed25519 and post-quantum keys) are stored in the iOS Keychain, device-only and excluded from backups.
- Contacts (trusted public keys), authenticator accounts, and the text and files you encrypt, decrypt or sign are processed and stored locally.
- All cryptographic operations happen on your device. We never receive a copy.
What leaves your device
- Private Transfer sends only the content you choose, directly to the nearby device you select, over local peer-to-peer networking. There is no CryptoSeed server or cloud relay. Nearby discovery can expose transient radio or network metadata to nearby devices and to the operating system.
- Content you share or export (for example through the share sheet, NFC tags or QR images) goes where you send it.
- Donate button: opens an external page (Buy Me a Coffee) in Safari. The app passes no data to it beyond a standard browser request.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details.
Permissions
- Camera: scan QR codes for contacts, public keys and two-factor accounts.
- NFC: read and write keys and proofs to NFC tags, locally.
- Face ID / Touch ID: protect access to your keys.
- Local network: discover nearby devices for Private Transfer.
- Bluetooth: connect to a paired thermal printer.
- Photos (add only): save QR code images. The app cannot read your photos.
Tracking and third parties
CryptoSeed includes no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. This website uses no cookies or analytics.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall CryptoSeed. Keys are excluded from device backups. Keep your recovery phrases safe: we cannot recover lost keys.
Children
CryptoSeed does not knowingly collect any data from children.
Your rights
Because we don't collect or store your personal data, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. Contact us with any privacy question.
Changes
We will update this page and its effective date before any change reaches the app.
